HANDLEBAR moustaches and other wacky whiskers have gone on show at a healthy lifestyle event.
Personnel from HMS Collingwood in Fareham had the event at the base’s sport and recreation centre, where health professionals gave talks about the different aspects of health.
A highlight was the judging of a ‘Movember’ contest in which personnel grew moustaches to raise money to fight testicular cancer.
Collingwood’s executive officer, Commander Andy Phenna, said it was fun way of encouraging sailors to look after their health. He said: ‘Movember forces men to face the unfortunate reality that testicular cancer could affect anyone.’ A total of £255 was raised for testicular cancer charity Balls to Cancer.
