Businesses at Lakeside North Harbour are being urged to ditch single-use waste in a Plastic Amnesty Day on Thursday.
Helistrat, in partnership with Lakeside, will be hosting the event to raise awareness of the fight against single-use plastic waste.
The News has been campaigning in association with The Final Straw Solent, with the aim of making the Solent region reconsider what it throws away.
The Final Straw Solent, Starbucks and Eco Freaks Emporium from Gosport will all educate businesses on the impact of single-use plastic, while providing tips on how to reduce plastic usage and become plastic-free offices.
Chloe Cobb from Eco Freaks Emporium said: '˜Getting businesses to look at their plastic waste is a big deal.
'˜From our perspective, it's about pushing for people to look at what they're buying for their offices, and how much plastic that comes with.
'˜Our store is about buying things loose or doing refills on old containers.
'˜Even if these businesses are buying things from supermarkets or suppliers, it's important to look at what packaging is being provided, and pushing them to change their ways if they're damaging the environment.'
A collection point for all single-use bottles will be set up throughout the day in the Lakeside atrium, which will then be used by Splodge Designs to create a sculpture that will be displayed on-site.
