Karow Maldini, who lives in Portsmouth, said the title would help increase participation across the community

‘I have lived in Portsmouth for eight years and know it’s the city of football.

‘In families from Asia and the Middle East the focus for young people is often more on academic achievement progress rather than football pathways.

‘The City of Football title would offer more opportunities to people from every background to play.

‘Winning this would be great for everyone as football is a language that speaks to everyone.

‘It can help prevent drug abuse and other unhealthy habits.’
