Why Portsmouth parents are facing a financial strain as kids head back to school    Â

MORE than half of all parents in Portsmouth claim the rising cost of sending their child back to school this week has put their family under financial strain, according to a new study.

Figures released by price comparison site Idealo found that 51 per cent of Portsmouth parents are struggling financially after the '˜back to school' burden, with rising technology being cited as the main culprit.

Idealo's Katy Phillips said: '˜It's clear from our research that the cost of sending a child back to school this week has put a major financial burden on parents.

'˜From purchasing the latest tech to ensuring your child has the big-name sports brands, the costs can easily spiral.'
