A DOGWALKER was rescued after she slipped and fell into the River Meon, dislocating her leg.

The incident happened yesterday at 1pm in Close Woods, near to the Chiphall Trout Farm in Wickham.

Fareham fire station’s water rescue team was called to the woman’s assistance along with an ambulance.

The 30-year-old woman had been walking her two spaniels with a friend when she slipped on the muddy bank.

Her friend called for help and the woman was freed and taken to hospital just after 2pm.
