FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a woman who became trapped in a lift.

One crew from Southsea fire station was called to Grosvenor House, in Grosvenor Street, Southsea.

One woman was in the lift when it became stuck.

Crews freed the woman, who was uninjured, with specialist equipment, to help open the doors of the lift.

She was helped out and firefighters checked the woman was not hurt or distressed.

The incident happened at 4.15pm yesterday.
