HUNDREDS of people enjoyed a summer fayre.

The Rowner Parish Church, in Rowner Lane, Gosport, raised almost £1,900 from a number of activities organised by the community.

The cash raised on June 1 will go toward the running costs of the church.

The Rector, Father John Draper, said he is pleased so many people attended.

He said: ‘The result was fantastic. We had a good atmosphere with plenty of things to do, plenty of refreshments and a good, sunny day.

‘There were lots of other things happening nearby at the weekend, so the result was more than we had expected.’
