A GROUP of horse riders braved the elements for charity.

Six riders took to their trusty steeds on Christmas Eve in aid of Text Santa, ITV’s fundraiser.

Text Santa raises money for six UK charities to improve the lives of vulnerable people.

The horse ride set off from Kenninghall Livery Yard, in Titchfield, and made its way round the village.

Organiser Vanessa Taylor said: ‘There were six horses in the end, despite the wet and windy weather.

‘We stopped at the Fisherman’s Rest and we were greeted by the management. Unfortunately they had no power due to a downed tree but they donated generously.

‘We then rode through Titchfield where we were greeted with smiles and waves and donations.

‘We can’t thank the locals enough for their donations and patience on the road.

‘So far we have raised over £200 and we are still collecting.’

Riders who took part included Vanessa Taylor riding Murdy, Melanie Lacey riding Billie, Chelsi Curry and Lisa Curry riding Jake, Chloe Watkins riding Frankie, Stacey Grantham riding Harry and Sarah Wilde riding Asti, with help from Alex Bridgeman and Natalie Humphries.
