YOUNG musicians from across the county have been invited to perform at a music festival.

Hampshire musicians aged under 18 will perform in the second annual music festival at LVS Ascot (Licensed Victuallers’ School).

They will be among 100 performers on stage at the festival, and will take part in solo categories including vocal, piano, strings, woodwind and brass as well as ensemble and choir categories.

LVS Ascot Music teacher James Bryant said: ‘We have developed the festival this year to a broader range of classes to reflect the huge range of talent that young musicians in the area have.

‘As an all-ability school with no entrance exam, we are also going to express that ethos via “performers’ platforms” with a selection of non-competitive classes to allow performers the opportunity to play without the pressure of competition.

The festival takes place on February 6 and 7.
