A 17-YEAR-OLD cut 22 inches off her hair to support a children’s charity.
Hannah Browning, from Titchfield Common, made the bold decision to chop her locks after hearing about the work that is done at the Little Princess Trust.
The teenager attends Itchen College in Southampton and was inspired after hearing about the charity and managed to raise over £140 as a result of her big haircut.
Hannah had her hair trimmed down to a bob cut.
She said: ‘I’ve never had my hair this short before, but it was really worthwhile as the charity helps young people who are experiencing very difficult times.’
Hannah added: ‘I am very grateful to everyone who has sponsored me.’
Hannah had the big trim at Vanilla Rooms Hair and Beauty in Hedge End, with the salon kindly cutting her hair free of charge.
Sarah Fawcett, Hannah’s mum said: ‘I am really proud of Hannah; her kindness will hopefully encourage others to donate their hair to this fantastic cause.
The Little Princess Trust is a children’s cancer charity that helps provide real hair children’s wigs to those suffering from cancer, to help them while undergoing their treatment.
The Hereford-based charity also helps children that are dealing with hair loss as a result of their condition, providing them with support and assistance.
