Councillor expresses frustration as travellers return to Fareham

A COUNCIL leader expressed his frustration last night after travellers set up camp in Fareham.

The group, who are believed to have arrived at Locks Heath Shopping Centre from Essex yesterday, came in eight caravans, eight cars and have approximately four dogs with them.

Hampshire police say they cannot remove the travellers at present, with the group set to remain there over the weekend.

Fareham council leader Cllr Sean Woodward said: ‘When we visited this morning, there was some rubbish lying around. This was a result of foxes tearing the bin bags they had left out.’
