Fareham MP calls on constituents to help shape government policy on cycle safety

THOUSANDS of pounds have been donated by generous shoppers.

Collectors from Christian Aid received nearly £1,500 from shoppers last month.

The street collections were run between May 15 and 22 in Fareham Shopping Centre and Portchester precinct.

In total, £1,088 was raised in Fareham and £403.20 in Portchester.

Jeremy Hicks, co-ordinator, said the grand total of cash raised for the international aid and development charity during the week, including street collections and other activities, was about £6,500.
