YOUNG footballers have been given a boost after a kitchen firm invested in their team.
Benchmarx Kitchens and Joinery has opened a new branch at Fareham, complete with a showroom to showcase all of its designer-led kitchens.
To mark the company’s move to the area, the firm, on Fareham Road, will also be supporting the local football team, Fareham Town Football Club.
Helping kick-start the under-10s’ new season, the kitchen supplier has funded the budding young footballers’ kit, which will see the Benchmarx name featured on the front as the new lead sponsor.
Paul Godwin, the manager of Fareham Town FC Under 10s, is grateful for the support from Benchmarx.
He said: ‘We really appreciate the support Benchmarx is providing for the coming season.
‘The boys are really excited to show off their brand new kit as it gives them a real professional edge.
‘We hope it will bring them extra luck on the field too.’
In addition to the sponsorship, staff at the new branch will be fundraising for the Benchmarx charity partner, Macmillan.
This will include ongoing donations from kitchen deliveries, with Benchmarx aiming to raise £3m to help those affected by cancer over the next three years.
The team includes design professionals whom customers can either visit in-branch, or have come to their home.
The Benchmarx branch is open to tradespeople, selling all kitchen components under one roof – from cabinets and joinery, to work tops, splash backs, and appliances.
Branch manager Adam Hague said: ‘I’m really looking forward to heading up the new Benchmarx team in Fareham and to welcoming local fitters and customers alike.
‘I’m also looking forward to getting involved in the local community with charity initiatives for Macmillan and our sponsorship of Fareham under-10s.’
