FIREFIGHTERS rescued a man from his car after a road traffic collision.

The incident took place in Wickham Road, Fareham, after a vehicle collided with a tree last night.

Two appliances from Fareham fire station attended the scene after being called at 6.20pm.

Firefighters had to remove the roof and the internal seats of the car to get the man out.

A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said the man suffered no significant injuries.

Officers left the scene around 7.20pm.
