AN MP has urged residents to donate blood over the festive period.

George Hollingbery, Meon Valley MP says that as there are only 3,197 donors in his constituency, he is calling on more to get involved.

Mr Hollingbery says he regularly gives blood and has made the call to arms as blood stocks can run low over Christmas and the new year.

He said: ‘I would urge as many people as possible to give blood but also try to keep up regular donations.

‘It’s a vitally important public duty and saves countless lives.’
