A NEW £264,000 play area is set to be completed this July.
Work on the new multi-use games area, which will include outdoor gym equipment, is set to get under way shortly close to Holly Hill Leisure Centre in Sarisbury Green.
Councillors on Fareham Borough Council’s executive approved the awarding of a £264,993 contract for works to take place.
A short video displaying the design of the new games area was shown to councillors at the meeting, and the scheme was backed as looking ‘impressive’.
Councillor Trevor Cartwright, deputy leader of the council said: ‘I think this looks really good. This will be the final piece in the jigsaw for the works at Holly Hill and it does look impressive.’
The council’s executive previously approved a three-year play area improvement programme for the area in March 2015.
Funds for the new project will be provided by using Section 106 developer contributions that the council has accumulated.
