REVIEW: Cinderella, Buttons, Baby Shark, Fortnight and'¦Â Baby Shark at Ferneham Hall

Flossing, Fortnite, and Baby Shark kept kids squealing with delight '“ at Cinderella last night.

Youngster laughed and cheered at the YouTube hits at Ferneham Hall in Fareham, while parents enjoyed not one but two Theresa May's strutting their stuff to ABBA's Dancing Queen.

Bafta-nominated children's presenter Ed Petrie, playing Buttons, provided jokes for all ages.

'I've got to be careful with health and safety,' Buttons told the audience whilst throwing free sweets to eager children, 'but after we've left the EU, I'll be able to throw rocks at you.'

Aside from references to Brexit and internet hits, Cinderella gave the crowd plenty of opportunities to yell 'he's behind you' as the cast rushed around the stage.

Melissa Jane Fleming, who has previously performed at the Royal Albert Hall, showed off her singing as the downtrodden Cinderella.

Her wicked step-sisters Flora and Marj, played by Richard Pocock and Harry Hart, provided tongue-in-cheek jokes for knowing parents.

The three 'ladies' competed for the attention of Prince Charming, played by Andy Moss, star of Doctors and Cutting It.

Former The Voice contestant Jordan Lee Davies appeared as Prince Charming's right-hand man, as well as providing the show's choreography for the panto's backup dancers.

The show marks the 10th year that in-house production company Jordan Productions has wowed the town, with this year's show featuring a flying horse drawn carriage.

For Nathaniel Johnson, nine, from Fareham, the show was his first experience of a panto. He said: 'It's really funny.'

'My favourite bit was when the horse went in the air.'

Nathaniel and his family were joined by family friend Darrell Flecknor who was also enjoying his first panto experience - at the age of 52. He said: 'I never went as a kid - this has been excellent.

'It's a bit of fun for a Tuesday night, isn't it?'

Fareham Mayor Susan Bayford was also in the audience. She said: '˜There is nothing better than a panto at this time of year. For me, it's one of the happiest times of the year.

'˜The audience participation is great - not that I am volunteering to go on stage.'

Cinderella runs until January 6, 2019.

Tickets are on sale for Ferneham Hall's next Christmas panto, which will be Beauty and the Beast.Â
