TODDLERS walked as far as they could around a church to raise funds for a new memorial garden.

Youngsters at St Mary’s Church Hall in Pre-School, Warsash took part in the sponsored toddle around the nearby St Mary’s Church on September 28.

The pupils raised more than £400, which will go towards new memorial gardens and a bench for the church.

Fareham’s mayor, Councillor Connie Hockley, joined the youngsters.

The pre-school’s Donna Brewster organised the event. She said: ‘It was such a lovely event as all the kids tried to walk as far as they could go. It was very sweet and it was great to have Connie there, who walked along with them and had some fun herself.’
