THE MP for Gosport has joined schoolchildren in taking on The Daily Mile.

Caroline Dinenage has united with MPs from across the country in taking part in the scheme which encourages youngsters to stay fit and healthy.

Founded in 2012, The Daily Mile involves 15 minutes of running or jogging outside – with walking kept to a minimum – around the school playground or perimeter every day.

Ms Dinenage recently undertook the challenge herself with Year 2 pupils at Grange Infant School in Franklin Road, Gosport.

Since its inception, The Daily Mile has spread to more than 6,400 schools worldwide, with more than 1.3 million children taking part – as well as workplaces, hospitals and other healthcare settings.
