A film crew, which turned up at Stokes Bay earlier in the week, has confirmed that the team will be in Gosport for the next few days, filming for the new series of the show.

The team will be filming in Little Woodham – a 17th century-styled village in the town.

‘It has been all over the internet for the last few days – people tend to catch onto these things pretty quickly.’

Leader of Gosport Borough Council, Cllr Mark Hook, has welcomed the news.

It comes after Transformers was filmed in Gosport in 2016.

He said: ‘Following on from Transformers in Gosport, to now have Doctor Who filming in Little Woodham is excellent news.

‘It is a perfect spot and we shall have to wait and see when it will be aired.

‘I personally cannot wait to see what the story line is and how Little Woodham ties into it.

‘It would be great to see a little bit of Gosport turned into a 17th century Gallifrey!’

A trailer, owned by a company which trains dogs for TV shows, was seen at Little Woodham.

Kevin Casey, from Gosport, said the trailers arrived at Stokes Bay yesterday.

He said: ‘I wasn’t sure at first, but I’ve been round a few times and it definitely looks like a film crew.

‘There’s even more of them down there today, so I think it’s something big that’s happening.’
