AN APPEAL has been launched by police to track down vandals damaging property at a town’s allotment sites.

Between January 1 and February 15 this year, there have been 40 reports of theft or criminal damage at allotments in Gosport.

Plots in Leesland, Brockhurst and Privett have been targeted.

A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: ‘Items such as small hand tools have been taken.

‘A total of 25 sheds have been damaged by offenders forcing locks off to enter a shed. Of these 25, nothing was stolen.’

Police are already investigating after shed break-ins in the Middlecroft allotments. People are urged to contact PCSO Deana West if they have see anything suspicious, by calling 101 and quoting 44170043044.
