TWO community projects are set to receive a funding boost thanks to a programme set up by the developers of a housing scheme.
Age Concern Gosport and Gosport Voluntary Action (GVA) will get a share of £18,328 from Wates Giving set up by Wates Residential, which is currently building 200 new homes at pace as part of the Daedalus Village scheme.
GVA chief officer Nicky Staveley said: ‘I was thrilled to hear the news of Wates’ generous sponsorship for two very worthwhile community projects.
‘Not only will it enable both groups to deliver innovative and much needed support to some of Gosport’s most disadvantaged residents but it also marks the beginning of an exciting new partnership.’
Angela Gill, chair of trustees, Age Concern Gosport, added: ‘We look forward to working in partnership to enable more people gain access to services that will enrich their lives.’
