THE coastal defence options that have been shortlisted to help protect more than 100 Langstone homes will be presented to the public.

Residents are being invited to find out about the Langstone coastal defence study which will identify options to reduce coastal flood and erosion risk.

Two drop-in events are being held next week where locals can meet the project team and share their views – currently many of the sea defences in Langstone are in poor condition.

Councillor Tim Pike, cabinet lead for finance and regeneration at Havant Borough Council, said: ‘The Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership is engaging with residents to discuss coastal defence options. Anyone who has an interest in the area is encouraged to get involved.’

The events are being held at Langstone Sailing Club on Tuesday, November 20 from 4pm-8pm and at The Ship Inn, Langstone, on Thursday, November 22, from 6pm-9pm.

The ESCP will also look to identify opportunities to improve the public space along the waterfront.
