A PAY and display machine has been stolen from a car park in an ‘unusual incident.’

Police are appealing for information after thieves stole the machine from the Staunton Country Park car park in Middle Park Way between 9pm on Sunday, February 19 and 7am on Monday, February 20.

Another machine was damaged and the money inside was taken, with approximately £200 to £300 stolen in total.

The costs of replacing and repairing the machines equate to around £1,900.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have noticed suspicious activity in the car park around this time.

PCSO Ben Howard said: ‘This is an unusual incident, particularly as the pay machine that was stolen is very heavy and would have required a van to take it away.’ Call police on 101 and quote 44170067291 if you have any more information.
