Waterloo bridge players raise over £1,500 for charity in 24-hour card marathon

A 24-HOUR bridge marathon has raised more than £1,500 for two local charities.

Waterlooville Bridge Club set up several competitions for players of all abilities at Sacred Heart Church Hall in Waterlooville.

Around 100 competitors took part and were welcomed with Pimms, strawberries and cream.

Twelve keen fundraisers also played throughout the night to raise a total of £1,712 for The Rowans Hospice and The Vincent du Paul Society.
