A POPULAR pub with a unique twist is bringing its second popular franchise to the city.
Brewhouse & Kitchen are opening their doors to their Southsea branch this week which will serve as the area’s only on-site craft brewery and pub.
Following an extensive refurbishment, the company has stamped its unique style on to the pub’s interiors, making space for their iconic copper barrels in the dining area so that guests can dine beside the brewing beer.
Co-founder Simon Bunn said: ‘We are very excited to open a Brewpub in Southsea and look forward to making lots of local friends, providing a service to the fantastic and welcoming community.
‘To be located in Southsea is wonderful, allowing us to deliver a truly unique pub experience to residents and visitors alike and embrace the community with open doors and full kegs.’
Diners, drinkers and fans of craft brew have been served for the last five years in Guildhall Walk and the team chose to expand in the city following its popularity.
Simon said: ‘We started our journey in 2013, a short distance away in central Portsmouth and have found the area to be very welcoming, so the progress we have made since then is no small feat.
‘And after our five years in Guildhall Walk, we have responded to many requests to have our Brewpub in Southsea, we are so proud to bring this to fruition and look forward to welcoming many guests who have not visited us in Guildhall Walk.’
More than 250 guests will be able to enjoy the new garden in the firm’s 23rd site when the warmer months return and pub-goers will be able to attend celebrations at the venue with a naming party in January.
Simon added: ‘We are delighted to bring the great qualities of each and every Brewhouse & Kitchen to the community in Southsea.
‘We hope it will be a central hub of the community and, given the pub is in an amazing location with a ‘to die for’ garden, this venue will be an amazing place to work, eat, drink and socialise.
