FIREFIGHTERS were called to a car fire on the M27 westbound earlier this evening.

Crews from Fareham and Hightown, Southampton, were joined by police after a call for help at 8.15pm.

The incident happened on the hard shoulder between junction 10 and 11.

According to a firefighter who attended the scene, the car is badly damaged.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: ‘The driver is out and safe.

‘The vehicle is currently being recovered.’
