A CHARITY which provides meals for those in need is hosting its festive fundraising dinner at a Portsmouth church.
FoodCycle Portsmouth is holding its festive fundraising dinner at St Jude’s Church in Southsea on Friday, November 23.
The church will be transformed into a gastronomic dining arena and under the guidance of Kenwood’s development chef, Sophie Meechan, FoodCycle volunteers will prep, cook and serve a three-course meal to customers.
FoodCycle coordinator, Gail Baird, said: ‘This is a fantastic time to support an important local charity that is doing invaluable work for some of our community’s most vulnerable people, while enjoying a great evening out.
‘It is an opportunity for a relaxed, pre Christmas get-together with friends, family and colleagues at a very reasonable price!’
FoodCycle is a national charity that uses fresh ingredients donated by supermarkets and Portsmouth’s independent food retailers to feed the community.
Portsmouth’s organisation is volunteer-led and relies on donations and fundraising to continue their increasingly significant work.
The event starts at 7pm. Tickets are £15, plus a 90p booking fee, from bit.ly/PortsmouthFoodCycle. Book individually or as a group.
