THE UNIVERSITY of Portsmouth journalism course has been recognised as best undergraduate university course in the UK by the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).

Portsmouth was awarded ‘Best performing higher education undergraduate course’, at the 2018 NCTJ Awards for Excellence gala dinner and ceremony and was highly rated because its students were the most successful in gaining the NCTJ Gold Standard Diploma in 2017-18.

Course leader Ian Tapster said: ‘The award is testament to the hard work and excellent attitude of the 2018 graduating cohort, as well as the commitment and enthusiasm of the journalism teaching team.’
