People who are or live with someone who is visually impaired are eligible to qualify for a 50 per cent concessionary TV licence.

TV Licensing has been working with the Royal National Institute of Blind People to help make those who can apply aware of the scheme that is being offered.

There are 90 blind licences in force in Portsmouth. Ben Craig, spokesperson for TV Licensing in London and the south east, said: ‘If you live with someone who is blind, they are entitled to a concessionary TV licence. This will cover you, as well as anyone else living in your household.’
