Dominic Ager has said the hard work was worth it after he gained top grades in 11 GCSEs.
The 16-year-old said he was amazed after picking up his results of four A*s, six nines and an A in advanced maths at Portsmouth Grammar School.
He said: ‘I am shocked, I did put a lot of work in but I am amazed I got those results, I definitely feel it's worth it.
‘I just wanted to do well and I just got on with it.’
His father, Daryl Ager, a teacher at the school, said: ‘I am extremely proud of him, he has always cracked on with it and not many people achieve the grades that he has.’
Dominic, from Portsmouth, said he will carry on his studies for the International Baccalaureate.
