A SHOPPING centre has been recognised for its toilet facilities.

Gunwharf Quays, in Portsmouth, scooped the new Space to Change award at the national 2016 Loo of the Year awards.

The award identifies amenities that meet the personal hygiene needs of users requiring changing and lifting facilities, wheelchair access, changing benches and hoists.

Colin Wilding, general manager at Gunwharf Quays, said: ‘We strive to ensure Gunwharf Quays is accessible to all our guests so we are delighted that our rest room facilities have been recognised among the best in England.

‘Gunwharf Quays boasts a unique location and design so it’s important that every aspect of the centre is the best it can be to ensure our visitors have a great day out from start to finish.’
