Hovertravel timetable to be changed '“ here's how your journeys will be affected

The services from Southsea are not currently running, Hovertravel have confirmed. 

A yellow weather warning for wind was in place for Portsmouth between last night and this morning - as Storm Bronagh battered the city. 

Hovertravel said that services from Southsea are currently '˜suspended due to the weather'. 

However once the hover craft resumes service, an updated timetable will be in place. 

What is the updated timetable? 

Hovertravel is implementing a revised timetable from today - once services resume '“ until Monday, November 12. 

The following Island Flyer services will be cancelled: 

Monday to Friday Ex Ryde: 0730, 0800, 1600, 1630, 1700, 1730

Monday to Friday Ex Southsea: 0745, 0815, 1615, 1645, 1715, 1745

A spokesman for the company said: '˜Hovertravel is asking any customers booked on the above services to re-book at a different time.

'˜Customers who do not wish to transfer will receive a refund or will be offered prepaid travel with an alternative operator and apology vouchers.

'˜Solent Flyer experienced an issue with the ballast transfer system, so she needs to leave Ryde to travel to our sister company Griffon at Woolston for remedial work. 

'˜This work is estimated to take until early November and Hovertravel will provide an update on progress on Thursday 25th October.' 

Hovertravel will be running a revised timetable help desk in its Ryde Terminal  which will be open from 7am to 9am. 

It will also be running the same help desk in its Southsea Terminal between 3.30pm and 6pm. 

The help desk will be there to assist passengers as well as to transfer their bookings and answer enquiries.
