NIGHTCLUB lovers from across the city are gearing up for the opening of a new venue next month.
Pryzm, which will be the replacement for Liquid and Envy in Stanhope Road, is the result of a £1m investment by Deltic Group, which has been investing in nightclubs across the UK.
The opening night is on Friday, June 16, with VIP guests Marvin Humes, formerly of JLS, and ex-TOWIE star Mark Wright.
The nightclub will have three separate rooms – a main arena, showcasing the latest light and sound technology; Curve, a more intimate room with DJs playing the latest R&B chart tracks; and a disco room called Vinyl, featuring a retro flashing dance floor.
There will also be 25 booths for parties, offering special packages and table service.
Pryzm will also be creating 75 new jobs, which new manager Dave Joyce says will be a great opportunity for people.
He said: ‘Working in clubs is fantastic fun and we’re looking for people who are prepared to work long hours, be part of a team, enjoy great rewards and are excited by the chance to build a fulfilling career.’
Chris Milligan, 20, went to the VIP opening night of Pryzm in Watford. He says that the hype surrounding the club’s opening was electric, and that Portsmouth residents can expect a similar level of excitement.
He said: ‘Przym has been a massive success for Watford. The opening night was a fantastic spectacle.
‘It wasn’t just a lick of paint either, good money was spent on it and when you get someone of Marvin Humes’ calibre to DJ the opening night, you know it’s going to be a big deal.’
‘It has helped step up the competition between nightclub venues. Expect Portsmouth to soon become a thriving area for the night club industry – things are only going to get better.’
