BUSINESSES and local authorities in Portsmouth have just a few days left to put their show-stopping building projects forward for a prestigious award.

Entries for the Solent Design Awards close on September 2 at 4pm.

Organisers are looking for buildings in Portsmouth that have transformed their surroundings, making a positive impact on people and places.

Categories for this year are The Quality Residential Place Award for the best residential scheme, The People’s Choice Award for the project that receives the most online votes from the public and The Quality Place Award, given to the best scheme in all categories.

Paul Ramshaw, one organiser of the event, said: ‘We’ve seen some fantastic entries flooding in but we know there are even more out there.’

The awards evening will take place at the new Spark building at Southampton Solent University on November 24.
