AT THE Lake of Lights event being organised by The Rowans Hospice people are being invited to light a candle for a loved one who has died.
The charity said the event, which will take place at Canoe Lake on Friday, December 14, provides a wonderful opportunity during the festive period to take the time to remember those lost – whether or not they have been cared for at The Rowans.
Teresa Jeffery, in-memory event fundraiser for the charity, said: ‘The Lake of Lights is a unique occasion offering anyone in the local community the chance to go along to Canoe Lake and light a candle in memory of a loved one.
‘It’s a magical setting allowing everyone who has experienced a loss the opportunity to gather with friends, family or seek quiet solitude.
‘People get the opportunity to share a special moment reflecting upon their loved one.’
The event will take place from 5pm-7pm in Southsea.
