SHOPPERS will be able to snap up a bargain as a new discount health and beauty shop opens its doors this week.
Savers, a discount chain that has more than 340 stores across the country, is opening a store at the top of Commercial Road, Portsmouth, in the unit formerly occupied by Greggs bakery.
A spokeswoman for the chain, Marta Raczynska, said: ‘We are delighted to be announcing a new opening of a Savers store in Portsmouth, making it a second Savers in this beautiful coastal city.
‘We are excited to give our customers an amazing shopping experience in a busy, central location with easy access to the public and local transport links.
‘We believe the Commercial Road branch will make a great addition to the high street and provide all local and visiting customers with a wide variety of products at affordable prices.’
The chain already has a store in the Bridge Shopping Centre, in Fratton.
The new Commerical Road store will be opening on Friday and a special day is being planned with visits from key members of management, including regional general manager, Michael Morgan and area manager, Jade Vandross.
The new shop, which will be run by store manager Ian McGee, has created 16 jobs, with all vacancies currently filled, and more possibly being available in the future.
Savers, which this year celebrates its 30th birthday, will offer customers a range of branded health, home and beauty products, alongside individual lines at highly competitive prices.
Marta added: ‘The community will be wowed by our amazing range of fragrances, make-up brands and household products.
‘We hope to see many members of the local community joining us for the store opening and joining in with the store launch celebrations. We look forward to welcoming customers from 9am on Friday.’
