A POPULAR Port Solent restaurant has re-opened its doors today little more than a week after a fire ravaged its roof.

Casa Brasil, in Boardwalk, was forced to shut up shop after a blaze sparked on the roof of the eatery earlier this month, damaging the site.

The fire caused the mass evacuation of hundreds of customers who had been enjoying an evening meal.

But today, the restaurant’s management has revealed they have patched up the damage and are back in business.

In a statement to The News this morning, a Casa Brasil spokesman added: ‘The management of Port Solent and Casa Brasil would like to thank the public for all for the kind words over the past week.

‘After lots of hard work from a great team we are pleased to announce that Casa Brasil in Portsmouth is open again.’
