Forecasters say the weather will remain chilly in the Portsmouth area next week.

The Met Office five-day forecast predicts spells of fine weather but cold conditions.

The forecast is: ‘Tonight: Dry but cloudy during the evening. Becoming misty and murky later, with low cloud becoming extensive and patchy rain following for a time towards dawn. Minimum Temperature 2 °C.

‘Sunday: Misty and murky to start with patchy rain possible, but brightening up to leave sunny spells into the afternoon. Feeling rather cold, especially in coastal districts given the onshore breeze. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.

‘Outlook for Monday to Wednesday: Fine but rather cold, with some overnight fog and frost giving way to daytime sunny spells. Probably turning cloudier and breezier through Wednesday.’
