Portsmouth named as one of the UK's least safe cities to live

Portsmouth ranked as number 24, while Birmingham was voted as the safest at number one.

The study showed there are 626 incidents of crime for every 100,000 people in Portsmouth. Manchester, number five on the list, had the lowest crime rate across the country with just 121 per 100,000.

Overall, Belfast came in second place while Derby and Plymouth came third and fourth respectively.

The average property age in Portsmouth is 83-years-old and the average house price £208,363.

A total of 83 per cent of ambulances in the city are shown to respond in eight minutes, while the median ambulance response time is five minutes and 39 seconds. In Derby, 92 per cent of the ambulance requests are responded to in less than eight minutes.

The data showed Portsmouth has an average of 60 burglaries and seven robberies per month. But there is a zero per cent chance of ground movement and flooding

Southampton is at number 29 on the list, with 41 burglaries and eight robberies per month, plus 320 incidents of crime.
