THE FIRST tenant at an industrial development – which it is hoped will create 100s of jobs and boost employment in the city – has moved in after the site has been completed.
The site used to hold an old, disused factory and now has 92,000sq ft of highly-specified industrial and logistics floor space, with Unit 7 now belonging to Scott Cables Ltd.
The site has been developed by Canmoor Developments, with commercial property specialists Lambert Smith Hampton and CBRE acting as joint agents.
The site has five units ready for letting and another unit is currently under offer with the agents.
Guy Leslie, asset manager at Canmoor, said: ‘The completed scheme sets the standard for industrial premises and shows confidence in the local market from investors.
‘The grade A specification will help the estate attract occupiers both local and from outside of Portsmouth boosting employment in the city.’
The scheme was funded by British Airways Pension Fund. It is the most recent speculatively built scheme in Portsmouth
Canmoor hopes the scheme will raise the city’s industrial profile.
The site has good transport links with the M27, M3, A3 and Portsmouth Ferry Port in close proximity.
