A COFFEE shop is to opening its doors to welcome in those people who are alone on Christmas Day.

Home Coffee in Albert Road, Southsea, will be providing guests with hot drinks, nibbles, conversation and laughter on December 25.

It will be open for anyone alone, and staff say however cold it is outside on the day, the welcome inside will be warm.

Andrew Chance, a partner of the company said: ‘We all have periods of feeling lonely from time to time but for some folk it has become normal. Christmas is often the worst and millions this year will not talk to a soul all day.’
