Last weekend we were hotter than Ibiza - this we are likely to be colder than Russia.
After Portsmouth enjoyed temperatures in the high 20s, the weekend forecast is for around 15C - colder than St Petersburg, which is due to see highs of 21C. Moscow temperatures are expected to reach 17C.
Alex Burkill, from the Met Office said: “From Friday it has been fine weather for most people, but the temperatures are going to be closer to average for the time of year, as opposed to the highs of last weekend
“On Saturday most places are going to have a dry, bright day, but there will be some showers on the east coast. It will be bright but the temperatures will be cooler for the day.
“Across most of the country temperatures will be around the 11C to 14C mark, with London a little warmer up to 15C.
“It will be pleasant for most people when the sun is out but it will be colder than it was last weekend.”
“The sun should be there for most people, but there will be showers around in isolated areas, most likely in the north and the east of the UK.
“There will be some sun around the west and south west and there will be clouds around at times for most people.
“For Sunday it will be mostly dry and temperatures will be similar to Friday and Saturday, with highs of 16C in the south and around 13C in the north and a bit lower in Scotland.
“There is a potential for some overnight frost in the rural spots in the north for Sunday morning.
“Temperatures will be mainly at around average for the time of year or just a bit below.”
The Met Office farecast for Portsmouth is: ‘Saturday: Mainly dry with variable cloud and some bright or sunny spells, although it will feel much cooler. The odd isolated shower is possible. Breezy, particularly on the coast. Maximum temperature 15C.
‘Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Mostly dry with variable cloud and sunny spells. A few showers possible, mainly Sunday. Cloudier Tuesday with outbreaks of rain perhaps arriving. Chilly nights with a risk rural grass frost.’
