REUNIONS have been organised for old classmates, neighbours and a football team by one woman who wants to bring friends back together to create fresh memories.

Sandra Langford 65, has organised a school reunion in November for all those who attended St Luke’s C of E School on Hyde Park Road, Southsea, from the 1960s to the mid ‘70s.

Sandra said: ‘I had a wonderful school life at St Luke’s and always regretted that a couple of years after leaving school some people drifted apart, so I decided before it was too late to contact them.’

A number of old students have been gathering for three years at the Waverley Bowls Club in Southsea, where the reunion will be held on Friday November 16, at 7.30pm.

Sandra said in recent years the number of ex-pupils found has increased, but she would love to see more people.

On October 18 at 7.30pm a reunion is being held at the Good Companion for the St Luke’s C of E School football team of 1968 – and the group behind the events are trying to locate two of the then boys.

Tim Wallis, 65 will leave his home in America to meet with his old teammates.

Sandra added: ‘We have located everyone from the team except Geoff Mould and Clive Walsh.

‘Anyone else who knew Tim from school are welcome too together with their partners.’

Finally, another reunion is planned for those who grew up with Sandra on Brompton Road in Southsea during the 1950s and ‘60s.

Sandra said: ‘Friendships were forged and we all shared many experiences during those days and as I got older I found myself thinking back to those days and wondering how everyone was and what they had done with their lives.’

Old neighbours Jackie Taylor, then Jackie Lowry and Sandra will be organising this reunion in what was the Gravediggers Pub on Highland Road  now Jackie’s home. A date has not yet been set.
