Joggers in Portsmouth went the extra mile by donating hundreds of pounds to a charity supporting bereaved parents.

Portsmouth Joggers Club recently presented a cheque to the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (Sands). The running group are based at 1000 Lakeside, North Harbour, but are not charged by the premises, so instead the club donates to Lakeside’s chosen charity each year.

Margaret Driscoll, of Sands, was thankful for the donation. She said: ‘We depend almost entirely on the generosity of our supporters to help bereaved parents and their families work with health professionals to improve bereavement care and fund research to save babies’ lives.’
