DRIVERS had to be vigilant when travelling down a busy road - when a swan was seen crossing.

This passenger snapped a picture of the bird when driving down Eastern Road, in Portsmouth just after 10am this morning.

As reported by The News, a swan caused chaos when it got onto the M27 eastbound between junction nine and junction 11 earlier in the week. Two lanes had to be blocked for the bird to be rescued to safety.

The passenger who sent the photo in said: ‘It was wandering around on the Eastern Road at about 10.10am.

‘It was swanning about.’
