DRIVERS are being warned to be careful on the roads this morning after a fog warning was issued for the area.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning in place up until 10am this morning.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: ‘Patches of fog are likely to form readily in rural areas during Wednesday evening, becoming more widespread and locally dense overnight and at first on Thursday morning.
‘Please be aware that low visibility could lead to extended journey times and difficult driving in places.’
Flights from Southampton Airport have also been grounded while the fog clears.
Cross-country routes to Leeds and Jersey have been among those cancelled.
The airport urged customers on Twitter to check flight times with airlines before setting off.
The mist has also been disrupting Portsmouth’s footballers as well, with Pompey staff tweeting a fog-filledf picture of their training ground on arrival this morning.
