Woman arrested on suspicion of arson after fire at Southsea house 

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a house in Southsea. 

Emergency services including police, fire and paramedics were called to a property on Victoria Road North at around 6.32pm following the blaze.

Two people – a man and a woman – were rushed to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Cosham, with injuries that are not life threatening.

A 53-year-old woman has been arrested on with intent to endanger life. She remains in police custody at this time.

The exact cause of the fire will be the subject of a police and fire service investigation.

The other residents of the house were evacuated and have been re-housed.
