GARDENERS showed off the best of their crop at the annual Denmead Pumpkin Show.

Organised by Denmead Horticultural Society at the All Saints Church Hall, other activities including pumpkin carving and halloween-themed handicraft classes.

Phil Stock was awarded the Heaviest Pumpkin trophy, with his entry weighing 215.4lbs, while Lily Hosseini-Ashrafi won the Junior Cup for her 5.3lb pumpkin.

Organiser Linda Glenister said: ‘The show went very well, it was well attended and everyone had great fun. There weren’t many large pumpkins, but the committed pumpkin growers produced a splendid array as usual.

‘Our thanks must go to everyone who helped and all of those that entered the classes and came along on the night.’
