A FAMILY-OWNED care home is celebrating after being shortlisted for a prestigious business award.

Staff at Wisteria Lodge in Horndean have been shortlisted in the Gold Employer of the Year category in The Investors in People Awards 2018.

Martina and Andrew Brown have been running the home for 20 years and said the news affirms the hard work their team puts into the care given.

Andrew Brown, director of Wisteria Lodge, on London Road, said: '˜It's a privilege to be shortlisted for this award, it's a clear indication of the dedication and hard work the team has invested in the business.

'˜We are a family-run care home providing care for elderly residents and our aim is to build on the good work already present in the home, and develop all our staff to a very high standard, to provide the very best quality of care for residents.'

Investors in People aims to recognise the '˜people and teams that make a difference everyday'.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Roundhouse, London, on Wednesday, November 28.

Team members are also excited about the news '“ Mr Lalson, home administrator, said: '˜I am really happy to be a part of the excellent team at Wisteria and we're all very excited for the big day.'

The awards help to acknowledge the businesses who have achieved the highest standards in categories such as leadership and management, social responsibility and health and wellbeing.
